The Bench Wine and Tapas Bar is looking for an enthusiastic and highly talented Head Chef or Sous Chef with ambitions of becoming a Head Chef to join our Kitchen Team in our New Store that recently opened in Mersham, Ashford in Late March 2016. In our existing store in Ramsgate, The Bench has brought a new level of quality to the south east Kent area, with this Spanish inspired but internationally themed cuisine. We are looking for someone who has aspirations to move up the ranks whilst the company looks to expand into a multi venue organisation.

Your main duties would include preparing and presenting high quality food dishes and ensuring correct procedures and recipes are followed. As Head Chef you will lead and manage the kitchen and those that work within it. You will be given the chance to expand your portfolio by preparing several weekly specials. You will directly report into our Executive Head Chef who will work with you on upcoming Menu changes and ideas, as well as providing ongoing training and advice to help hone your skills to produce the finest Tapas Kent has to offer.

Experience required with a proven track record of succeeding in the Kitchen. You will be required to work 5 days a week, and cover holidays along with your Executive Head Chef when your colleagues are on holiday. You must be reliable and be able to motivate the kitchen team towards achieving consistent quality food while maintaining GP Targets.

The Group has 3 restaurants and gastro-pubs and progression through the ranks is available. You will also be expected to work in any one of the three venues under the guidance of the Executive Head Chef

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,000-£24,000 /year dependent on experience, increased packages may be available to exceptional candidates.
